John Myron Beard

John "Jack" Myron Beard, 83, of Liberty Twp., passed away on April 10, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Youngstown. Jack was born November 21, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence and Margaret (Keosky) Beard. Jack was a graduate of Girard High School, and he served in the Ohio Army National Guard.

Jack worked for Delphi Packard Electric as an electrician for 27 years until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the International Union of Electrical Workers-CWA Local 717. Jack was an avid golfer all his life, and enjoyed traveling around the United States in his RV. He was happiest when working in his lush yard and beautiful gardens, and swapping stories with neighbors and friends. After retiring, he started walking every morning (no matter the weather) in Mill Creek Park where he made many close friends.

Jack leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years, Irene (Bogacki) Beard, whom he married June 23, 1963, his daughter, Jennifer Beard of Boston, MA, his sister, Joyce Tochtenhagen of FL, and his granddaughter Zoë. Jack is preceded in death by his sister, Judith Brauer. His son, John, died suddenly, two days after his father, on April 12, 2020.
