Alfonsina DellaValle, 103, of Columbiana, formerly of Girard, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at St. Mary's in Columbiana. Alfonsina was born, March 11, 1913, in Girard, Ohio, the daughter of Vincenzo and Bellonia Marra Riccio. She was a member of St. Rose Church and the Mt. Carmel Society. Alfonsina enjoyed playing bocce for many years. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Guy (Linda) DellaValle of Struthers, daughter Josephine Bach of Girard, step-son John (Norma) Colapietro, daughter-in-law Connie DellaValle of McDonald, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio DellaValle, whom she married June 23, 1935 and died February 11, 1999,and her son Frank DellaValle. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 19th, from 5-7 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday,11:00 AM, at St. Rose Church in Girard, preceded by a 10:30 AM prayer service at the funeral home. ,Alfonsina will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery, next to her husband.
