Alvin "Eddie" Schnarrs, 79, of Girard, died Sunday September 18, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospital.  He was born March 13, 1932, the son of the late Alvin R. and Maxine Croyle Schnarrs.  He was a truck driver for 47 years and worked for McNicholas Transfer, General Fireproofing and retiring from Schwebels Bakery.  He was a Veteran of the Air Force in the (Korean War) and was active in the Reserves from 1956 to 1960.  Eddie was a member of St. Rose Church, a regional member of Fraternal Order of the Girard Eagles #2172, Girard VFW #419, Dewitt McConnell American Legion Post 235, Vice president of Old Timers of Girard, and N.A.U.S. Eddie loved fishing, camping, gardening, and canning , which he gave to people to enjoy.  He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease. He also enjoyed taking care of people, especially his grandchildren, and watching them play sports.  He is survived by his wife the former Agnes Blazina whom he married December 27, 1952, sons, Mickey (Nanette) Schnarrs of Cortland, Ron (Mary) Schnarrs of Girard, Rick (Sue) Schnarrs of Hedgesville, WV, and Kevin (Barb) Schnarrs of Vienna, sister Darlene Proffitt of Boardman, seven grandchildren, Jessica Schnarrs, Nicole Schnarrs, Matthew Schnarrs, Jaime Schnarrs, Stephanie Schnarrs, Kyle Schnarrs, and Brittany Schnarrs.  He is preceded in death by his sister Dorrie Sedlack.  Family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 from 5-8PM at Blackstone Funeral Home. A prayer service on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 12:30 PM at Blackstone's will precede a mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose Church at 1:00 PM.
