Andrew "Sonny" Carson

Andrew L "Sonny". Carson, 73, of Girard, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Hospice House in Poland of pancreatic cancer.  Andrew "Sonny" was born, April 29, 1942, in Youngstown, the son of Louis and Amelia Travasso Carson. Andrew "Sonny" graduated from Girard High School and had worked for Wean United and General Motors, and had owned and operated several bars in the Youngstown area.  He retired in 2005. In his spare time he enjoyed watching the old westerns on television, was a fan of Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoyed growing his own garden with his tomato and pepper plants, and especially the garlic. He will be deeply missed by daughters; Christine (Fred) DeLuca of Poland, and Debra L. Carson, of Youngstown, his ex-wife and friend, Rosemarie Carson, granddaughters; Marisa and Jenna DeLuca of Poland, sisters; Mary Ann Carson of Girard and Shirley (Jim) Allen of Girard, niece, Jodi (Jim) Warren of Denver, Colorado, nephew, David (Sara) Allen of Columbus, Ohio, great-niece, Adrienne Allen and great-nephew Tyler Allen. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents. Private graveside services will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
