Anita L (Ferrante) Spatar

Anita L. Spatar, 70, of Girard, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Anita was born February 25, 1946 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Oreste "Lee" and Irma DiIullo Ferrante. She was a school teacher for the Warren City School System and retired from the Girard City School System in 2010 after 38 years of teaching. Anita graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree and was a member of St. Rose Church. She loved traveling, and cooking. She leaves her husband, George W. Spatar, whom she married December 12, 1970, her sons; Jeffrey of Howland, Robert (Wendi) of Boardman and Anthony (Sherri) of Canfield, sister Patricia (Sean) Flanaghan of Mentor, brother Donald (Donna) Ferrante of Akron and her grandchildren; Justin, Taylor, Nicholas, Sophia and Danny. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 14th, at 12:00 PM at St. Rose Church in Girard, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the church. Anita will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery. The family requests any material contributions to made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
