Arthur S. Brown

Arthur S. Brown went to be with the Lord on May 28, 2017.  He passed peacefully with his family by his side.  He was born December 9, 1927. A graduate of Girard High School, then enlisted in the US Army where he served in Japan after WWII.  After returning from the service, he attended Kent State University and later transferred to Youngstown State University where he received his degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He was employed by Peerless Electric-Winsmith as an engineer and retired in 1992.

He enjoyed music, playing his guitar, hunting, fishing, golfing with his buddies and family and family gatherings.  He took great pride in maintaining his home and loved the outdoors.  He was a man of many talents.

He leaves his wife Lula C. Brown who he has been married to for 65 years.  His children Wendy L. Walters, Michael J. Brown, Sr. (Rhonda), Five grandchildren: Michael J. Brown, Jr (Tiffany), Joshua Brown, Alissa Sweet (Joshua), Jacob J. Walters, Justin T. Walters (Jacki), Three great grandchildren: Tyler, Haley and Olivia.  He is also survived by his sister Marilyn Shakley (Al).  He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley S. and Inez H. Brown and a sister Arlene Stoll.

He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and friends.

Funeral arrangements will be taken care of by Blackstone Funeral Home.  A private service will take place with interment at Niles Cemetary.  The family requests any donations be made to Hospice of the Valley 330-788-1992.
