Barbara Ann Smith

Barbara Ann Smith, 61, of Girard, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Lake Milton, Ohio. Barbara was born February 23, 1955 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Charles J. and Mary M. McCay Smith Sr., Barbara was a graduate of Mount Union University and a member of Church Hill United Methodist Church. For most of her life, Barbara worked for nonprofit organizations and was also an independent travel agent. She was a member of the Kiwanis Lodge in Medina, where she held the office of Vice-President, Circle K., executive director for Northeast Ohio Campfire, helped organize First Night of Canfield and was presenty working on First Night in Medina. She loved telling stories and was a movitational speaker. She leaves to cherish her memory, her father Charles of Girard, brothers; Charles J. Smith Jr. of Medina, Keith A. Smith and Michael L. Smith, both of Girard, many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 17th, 11:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, where the family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 6-8 PM and also on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
