Berna B Metcalf

Berna B. Metcalf, 84, of Girard, died Wednesday August 28, 2013 at Meridian Arms Nursing Home.  She was born August 14, 1929 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles & Olive Mansfield Burk.  Berna worked as a cook for Rapallo's Restaurant in Columbus, Ohio for 10 Years.  She was a member of the Girard First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Cheryl (George) Carney of Cortland, LaVonne (David) Morgan, with whom she made her home with in Girard, and Curtis Metcalf Jr., of Girard., sisters, Beverly Mashiska of Austintown and Phyllis Lourbbio of Athens, brother, Larry Burk of Athens, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Faye Carney and brothers, Robert and Richard Burk. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday September 8, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. Berna will be laid to rest near her mother.
