Betty H Gray

Betty H. Gray, 92, of Westerville, Ohio, formerly of Liberty Twp., Ohio, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at her residence. Betty was born May 5, 1922 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Sample Hynes. Betty was a 1939 graduate of Scienceville High School in Youngstown and the Kaiser School of Cosmotology. Betty was an Army Air Force Veteran of WWII. She was a member of Church Hill United Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing and her crafts of all kinds.  She is survived by her son, Richard A. (Carole) Gray of Frisco, Texas, her daughter, Candis L. Witt of Westerville, Ohio, grandchildren; Heather (Andrew) Guarnera of McKinney, Tx., Sean (Kristi) Gray of Wilmington, NC and Erin Haught of Columbus, Ohio and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Gray, whom she married July 13, 1946 and died February 20, 2007, her sister Charlotte Snyder and her brother Col. Eugene Hynes. Funeral services will be held on Thursday Dec. 4, 2014, 11:00 AM, at Church Hill United Methodist Church. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4-7 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard and also on Thursday from 10:00 until the time of service at the church. Betty will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery.
