Betty E. Worley, 87, of Girard, passed away on Thursday June 5, 2014 at her residence. Betty was born July 2, 1926 in Girard, the daughter of the late David and Mertie Zents Worley. She had worked as an inspector for 40 years for General Electric in the Mahoning Plant in Niles retiring in 1988. Betty loved walking downtown Girard, shopping, gambling, reading, bingo and traveling. She is survived by her nephew Paul Gerke Sr., whom she made her home with, great-nieces; Bettie (Tom) Humphreys and Cathy (Mitch) Shank, great-nephews; Paul (Val) Gerke Jr. and David (Petey) Gerke and many great-great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters Florence Donelson, Evelyn Worley and Cora Sipe, brothers: Wesley and David Worley and niece Lana Gerke. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 9th, 4:00 pm at Blackstone Funeral Home, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 until the time of service.
