Byron Emerick, 83, of Girard, died on Wednesday March 7, 2012, at Autumn Hills Nursing Home. Byron was born January 27, 1929 in Johnston, Pa. a son of the late Thomas E. and June Wright Emerick. Byron had worked in construction as a carpenter and was a Navy Veteran of WWII. A member of the First Presbyterian Church in Girard and the Niles Masonic Lodge #794 were he was a 32 degree mason. He enjoyed fishing and model trains. He is survived by his wife, the former, Audrey Godney, whom he married February 21, 1997, his daughter Cindy "Lawrence" Minotti of Girard, step-sons David Kasner of Oregon, Jeff "Missi" Kasner of Lordstown and Don "Stephanie" Kasner of Austintown, eight grandchilden and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death was his son Jeffrey Minotti, four sisters and three brothers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
