Carl Smith

Carl Smith, 80, formerly of Girard, residing in Flagler Beach, Florida, passed away January 7, 2015.  He was home with his wife by his side. He was born March 5, 1935. He leaves his wife JoAnn whom he was married to for 33 years. Carl worked at Operating Engineers Local Union 66, as a backhoe operator for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, walking the beach and going to flea markets. He leaves behind his children, John Letzkus Smith of Melbourne, FL,  Denise Kihm of Girard, Cynthia Smith of Lake Milton, Sharlene Symcheck of Fredericksburg, PA, Glenn Smith of Youngstown, and Barbara Donham of Slidell, LA. He had 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Smith; three brothers, Ed, Paul, Lloyd; three sisters, Carol, Alma, and Loris. We will all miss his sense of humor and that he made everyone smile. He will be missed deeply.  Memorial services will be held at Blackstone Funeral Home on Saturday, January 23rd at 4 PM.
