Carmella D. Daugherty, 85, of Youngstown, formerly of Girard, died Tuesday December 23, 2014 at Park Vista Nursing Home. She was born July 17, 1929 in Struthers, Ohio, the daughter of the late Leonard and Philomenna Ruggierio Emanuel. Carmella was a member of St. Rose Church, and a former member of the Eagles, the Old Timers Club and had belonged to several card clubs. She is survived by her son Jack N. (Janis) Daugherty Jr., of Youngstown and two grandchildren, Jack and Taylor. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack N. Daugherty Sr. whom she married April 29, 1950 and passed away September 4, 2009, sister, Mary Jane Cammack, and her brothers; Alfred, James, John Anthony and Leonard Emanuel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 30th, 11:00 am at St. Rose Church. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 6-8pm at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard and also on Tuesday from 10:30-11:00 am at St. Rose Church. Carmella will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery next to her husband. The family requests any material contributions be made to Second Harvest Food Bank in Youngstown.
