Carolina (Salvitore) Picierro

Lina Picierro, 78, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Lina was born July 1, 1928 in Italy, the daughter of Sam and Annette (Arogona) Salvitore. She was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard. She spent her life lovingly caring for her home and her family. She had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Sons of Italy and enjoyed playing cards, cooking, baking, bocce, and spending time with children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Rita Wheatly of Niles, Annette Racick of Girard, Mimi (Joe) Datchuk of Girard, Jay Dubelt of Girard, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Private funeral services were held on Saturday at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. Lina was laid to rest, next to her husband, at Girard City Cemetery.
