Catherine DeMas

Catherine A. DeMas, 94, of Girard, passed away peacefully at the Hospice of the Valley Hospice House on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. 

Catherine was born September 15, 1930, the daughter of the late Angelo and Mary (Gallagher) Kuzman. She was a lifelong Girard resident. She was preceded in death by sisters Madeline Catone and Margaret Rex and brothers John, Jim, George, and Bill Kuzman. She leaves her brother Robert (Barbara) Kuzman, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, to cherish her memory. 

Catherine was one of the original employees of Girard’s Syro Steel, serving as Executive Secretary until her retirement. She was also a lifelong member of St. Rose Church. 

Catherine was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. She kept up with the news and current events and enjoyed watching the Browns, Guardians, and golf on TV.

At her request, there will be no service or calling hours. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
