Charles H Sexton Sr.

Charles H. Sexton Sr., 66, of Girard, passed away on Sunday January 20, 2013 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.  Charles was born May 9, 1946 in Maidsville, West Virginia, the son of the late John R. and Mary Baltic Sexton.  Charles worked for General Motors as a foreman for 30 years retiring in 1995 and then worked for Lowe's in Niles for 10 years.  He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.  Charles loved stock car racing  and just about anything to do with cars, woodworking and especially spending time with his grandchildren.  He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia Kortes, whom he married August 31, 1968, his children Stephanie (Chris) Groscost of Girard, John (Brandy) Sexton of Fowler and Charles H. (Norma) Sexton Jr. of Hubbard, sisters Sylvia Sexton of Girard, Carrie Rossi of Youngstown and Mary Sexton of Canfield, brothers Kenneth Sexton of Kileen, Texas, Eugene Sexton of Georgia and Robert Sexton of Girard, and grandchildren Jessica, Rebecca, Kaitlin, Aiden and Olivia.  He is preceded in death by his sister Linda Achten.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 24th, 11:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5-8PM at the funeral home.  The family requests any material contributions to made to the American Cancer Society.  Visit www.blackstonefuneralhome.com to view this obituary and to send condolences to the Sexton family.
