Christine M (Dimow) Pomponio

Christine M. Pomponio, 80, of Liberty Twp., passed away on August 17, 2015, at James Cancer Hospital, in Columbus, Ohio. Christine was born January 10, 1935, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Gus and Marjorie Kapazanos Dimow. She had worked as a secretary for Northside Hospital in the pathology lab department. Christine was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Youngstown and the Senior Club at St. John's Greek Orthodox Church in Boardman. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, baking and crocheting. She is survived by her children; Patty (Tom) Sabella, of Nashville, Tenn., James (Shelly) Pomponio, of Columbus, Ohio, and Marie (Dean) Iacono, of Chicago, Ill., grandchildren; Niko, Christina and Reegan, and her sisters; Angeline D'Antonio of Hubbard and Elaine Raiger, of  Howland. Christine is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Pomponio, whom she married August 13, 1955 and died in July of 2011.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 21st, 12:30 PM, at St. Edward's Church, 240 Tod Ave. in Youngstown. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of mass.  Christine will be laid to rest at Belmont Park Cemetery.
