Clarence "Clancy" Banks, 67, of Liberty Twp. died Friday March 22, 2013 at Northside Hospital. Clancy was born August 27, 1945 in McRoberts, Kentucky, the son of the late James M. and Flara V. Hall Banks. Clancy had worked for Sheet and Tube Co. in Campbell for many years and then worked for Warren Republic Steel (LTV) retiring in 2001 after 37 years as an Electrician. He was a 1964 graduate of Liberty High School and a member of St. Edward's Church in Youngstown. Clancy loved the wildlife around his home, always feeding birds and squirrels. He enjoyed playing darts and pool, camping, going to the Jamboree in the Hills, listening to country music and especially spending time with his friends and family. He is survived by his wife, the former, Carol Wiesen, whom he married Nov. 14, 1964, his children Cindy Brown of Goose Creek, SC, Cherie (Marty) Elser of Warren, LCDR Charlie R. (Kathy) Banks of Rota, Spain and Dr. Craig (Fiancée Courtney) Banks of Ravenna. He is also survived by sisters Irene (Bill) Stout of Las Vegas, NE, Carolyn (Chuck) Griffiths of Liberty, Sheila Faber of Liberty and Vicki (Lloyd) Dickens of Elemdorf, TX, brother James (Donna) Banks of Liberty, sister-in-law Marie Caudill of Jeremiah, Kentucky, grandchildren Kyle Brown, Heather Pearce, Donny Palotsee, Dennis, Timothy, Kevin, Kristin, Alexander and Taylor Banks and two great-grandchildren Julius and Marley Pearce, along with many other family members in the Youngstown and Sharon area. He is preceded in death by his infant daughter Connie Marie, brothers J.B. and Jack Banks and two sisters Pauline Stevens and Edra (Brother-In-Law, Paul) Fentress. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday March 27th, from 6-9PM at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 28th, 11:00 AM, at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Belmont Park Cemetery.
