Colleen Kay Painter, 84, formerly of Girard, died Thursday November 3, 2011 in Carmel, Indiana. She was born April 11, 1927 in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Donald & Elsie Fox McCandless. She formerly worked at Easco Aluminum Co. for three years and M & M Manufacturing for 5 years. She was a former member of Girard Senior Citizens where she and her husband were very active and involved in many activities. She is survived by her husband James Bruce Painter of Noblesville, Ind., whom she married September 23, 1951, son, John D. (June) Painter of Carmel, Indiana, grandson Brian (Melinda) Painter and two great-grandsons Andrew J. and Cameron J. of Westfield, Ind.,and grandson Scott M. (Emily) Lytle Painter of Noblesville, In., two sisters Garnet M. (Joseph) Stahlman of Slippery Rock, Pa.and Erla J. Gouldsberry of Lisbon, Ohio, two step brothers, DeWayne Fair and Harry Fair of Lancaster, PA. She was preceded in death by her step father, Mearl Fair, two step sisters, Georgene & Marie and step brother, LaMont Fair. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday November 6, 2011 at 5:30 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard where the family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 PM until the time of service.
