David A Adams

David A. Adams, 90, of Girard, died Friday September 2, 2011 at Hospice House in Poland.  He was born June 13, 1921 in Struthers, Ohio the son of the late Charles & Adelaide Yochim Adams.  David retired in 1983 after 40 years for Ohio Edison Power Plant in Niles. He was a Veteran in the Army in WWII,  a member of the First Baptist Church in Girard, formerly belonged to Girard Senior Citizens, several bowling leagues and enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by his children, Janice A. (Kenneth) Townsend of Columbus, GA, Jerry L. Adams of Woodstock, GA, Donna J. Smith of Howland, OH, and Susan R. (John) McCarthy of Lake City, FL, sister, Mary Agnes Adams of Salem, OH, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife the former Betty Craig whom he married June 17, 1943 and died January 30, 2007, sister, Pauline Adams, brothers, Charles, Arthur and George Adams.  A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday September 6, 2011 at 11:00 Am at the First Baptist Church in Girard. A Graveside Military  Service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Youngstown on Tuesday September 6, 2011 at 9:00 AM.  Family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 5-7PM at Blackstone Funeral Home.
