David P Santagata

David P. Santagata, 61, of Girard, passed away on Wednesday May 21, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.  David was born December 25, 1942 in Youngstown, the son of the late Joseph P. and Mildred A. Paulsey Santagata Jr. David had previously worked as a Commissioned Officer for Mineral Ridge, Weathersfield and McDonald Police Departments and retired from Girard Police Department as a Dispatcher.  He was a 1971 graduate of Girard High School.  David enjoyed martial arts, history and astronomy. He leaves to cherish his memory his special friends Frank Rendes of Girard and April & Shawn Green of Girard, many cousins and his beloved dog Gerty.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his twin brother Daniel Santagata.  Funeral services will be officiated by Msgr. John Zuraw on Wednesday May 28th, 11:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 PM.  David will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.  Any monetary contributions will be used to help defray the cost of funeral expenses.  Visit www.blackstonefuneralhome.com to view this obituary and to send any condolences.
