Donald Edwin Culver, Jr., 69, from Liberty Township, Ohio died on December 23, 2016. Donald was called home to eternal rest on Friday at his daughter’s home in Howland Township, Ohio surrounded by the family he cherished so much in life. Donald was born on March 15, 1947 in Bristolville, Ohio son of Donald Sr. and Michelina (Margie Laprocina) Culver. Part of large family, Donald grew up with siblings Helen Ann, Elaine, Anita, Gary, Lori and Lonnie. Donald was raised in the country where he loved spending time in the outdoors always hunting and fishing. Donald attended Bristolville and Harding schools. As a veteran of the United States Army, Donald served in the the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. He was assigned to the 25th Infantry and was a decorated marksman. Upon his return, Donald continued working at Copperweld Steel/CSC for 38 years serving as a as Union Representative for his department in Conditioning. He retired in 2001. Donald met the love of his life, Linda Marie Palermo, in 1968 and they were married on September 6, 1969. They spent 47 amazing years together having two wonderful children, Donald and Christina. Donald was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard. Donald was a loving, generous, and hardworking individual who gave his time and talents without hesitation. He was dedicated to his family, was an avid outdoorsman, loved traveling and recently spent a memorable week in the Blue Ridge Mountains with his family. As a very dedicated and driven individual, Donald always injected humor throughout his life. Donald leaves to cherish his memory his wife Linda, his son, Donald (Andrea) Culver of Tampa, Florida, his daughter, Christina Ferreri of Howland Township and his precious and beloved grandchildren, Logan, Madelyn and Mason Culver of Tampa, Florida and Joscelyn Ferreri of Howland Township, Ohio, sisters Elaine (Harry) Cline of Warren, Ohio Lori (Michael) Placer of Girard, Ohio, Anita (Ed) Placer, of Warren, Ohio and brothers, Gary of Wills, Texas, and Lonnie Culver of Warren, Ohio. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. His parents Donald and Michelina (Margie) Culver and sister Helen Ann Anderson preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 28, 2016 at 12:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
