Donald J. Hobbs, 78, of Girard, formerly of New Jersey, passed away suddenly on Saturday April 25, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born February 4, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Albert and Edna Huber Hobbs. Donald was a Army veteran during the Korean Conflict and a retired self-employed electrician contractor. Donald attended St. Rose Church, was a member of the Moose Club and Square Circle. He was a musician, a former boxer and enjoyed hunting. He leaves to cherish his memory, his companion, Betty Manente of Girard, and her children Lisa Manente of Girard and Greg (Sheri) Manente of Fowler, his children; Dawnanne Lunn, Barbara (William) Shappell, Kristin Santore, Donald (JoAnne) Hobbs and Danielle (Shannon) Mealey, all of New Jersey, sisters; Kathleen (Robert) Hobbs-Jordan and Betty Gavin, both of New Jersey, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother Jack Hobbs. Private Memorial services will be held at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
