Dorothy (Semple) Grosbeck

Dorothy Grosbeck, 82, formerly of Girard, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Autumn Hills in Niles. Dorothy was born June 17, 1933, in Niles, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Mae (Wilson) Semple Sr.  Dorothy had worked as a telephone operator after graduation for a short period of time before marrying the love of her life, Edward A. Grosbeck on October 15, 1955. She then devoted her life to raising her children and then loved spending the time with her grandchildren. Dorothy was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Niles, where she was very active in church functions, and was an avid reader.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Linda (Bob) Burgett of Liberty Twp, Debra (Tom) Adkins of Hilliard, Diane (Bill) Burbick of Naples, Florida, Edward C. (Gayle) Grosbeck of Mineral Ridge, and Robert (Tracey Reber) Grosbeck  of San Diego, California, brothers; Charles (Pat) Semple Jr. and Thomas (Janice) Semple, both of Niles, grandchildren; Steve Adkins, Vicki (Chuck) Mooney, Chris Adkins, and Dr. Randy (Kristen) Burgett, and one great- grandchild, Calvin Mooney.  She is preceded in death  by her husband, Edward, who passed away on August 25, 1984. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 21st, 10:00 AM, at First Presbyterian Church in Niles. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 5-7 PM at the Blackstone Funeral Home, in Girard, and on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the church.
