Dorothy L. Marlowe, 80, of Girard, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Autumn Hills Nursing Care Center in Niles. Dorothy was born July 25, 1935, in Girard, Ohio, the daughter of the late George H. and Florence Goers Rush. Dorothy graduated from Liberty High School in 1953. After graduating, Dorothy worked for Packard Electric. She married the love of her life, Thomas W. Marlowe Sr. on September 8, 1956, and together they owned and operated Marlowe's Appliance Stores, Inc. and also Marlowe's Vienna Auction, for 28 years. They started the Vienna Amvets Post #290. She was a member of St. Rose Church, in Girard and Vienna Amvets Ladies Auxiliary Post #290. She was an avid reader, enjoyed going on gambling trips with her husband, loved cooking, baking, cross stitch and needlepoint. Dorothy enjoyed many years of activities and functions with her fellow classmates. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Tom, children; Sharon L. (Richard) Grove, of Cortland, Thomas W. (Beckey) Marlowe Jr., of Sun City, Arizona, and Susan L. Fabian, of Girard, sister, Diane Mullen, of Austintown, brothers, Homer Rush of Girard and Paul Rush, of Vienna, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Jeffrey A. Marlowe. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 19th, 11:00 AM, at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5-8 PM and also on Thursday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery.
