Dorothy S (Spelich) Michelakis

Dorothy S. Michelakis, 74, of Girard, passed away at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center on Tuesday October 31, 2017, with her children by her side.
Dorothy was born September 14, 1943, in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Hocevar) Spelich.
She was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren, the St. Demetrios Senior Citizens and the Yasou Club. A homemaker, Dorothy's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with her sisters.
She was known as a giving person and even in death, Dorothy's final act was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Nicci (Sam) Lamancusa, John (JoAnn) Michelakis, and Christopher (Brandy) Michelakis, her sisters Carol Durst and Donna Mitovich, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John G. Michelakis, whom she married July 9, 1964 and died March 5, 2011, and her sister Mary Ann Lalli. Per Dorothy's wishes there will be no services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, any contributions be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 429 High St. NE, Warren, OH 44410.
