Edward M. Spencer, 72, of Liberty Twp., died Sunday June 3, 2012 at his residence.  He was born August 12, 1939 in Glouster, Ohio, the son of  Milton and Alice Poches Spencer.  Ed had owned and operated the Blue Ribbon Dry Cleaners, Northroad Coin Laundromat and Highlander Center Laundromat on Belmont Ave  after working in the drycleaning business since 1962 he retired several years ago.  Ed was a member of Church Hill United Methodist Church, Avalon, Oaktree and The Strand Country Clubs, the Ohio Dry Cleaners Association and Dry Cleaning and Laundry Institute. Besides his mother of McDonald he is survived by his wife, the former, Charleen Eynon, whom he married Feb. 15, 1964, daughter Marie Albrecht and her husband Thayne, who was more like a son to Ed than just a son-in-law, twin daughters Jean and Joan Spencer, both of Oberlin, Ohio and sister Jean Batian of McDonald and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Friday June 8, 2012, 11:00 AM at Church Hill United Methodist Church in Liberty Twp, where there will be calling hours prior to service from 10-11AM at the church.  Family will recieve relatives and friends on Thursday from 5-8PM at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.  Interment will take place at Churchill Cemetery.  The family request, in lieu of flowers, any material contributions be made to Our Lady of Wayside, 38135 Colorado Ave.  Avon, Ohio  44011-2170.  To view this obituary and to send condolences to the Spencer family visit www.blackstonesfh.com.
