Edwin "Doc" C Morgan

Edwin C. "Doc" Morgan, 96, of Youngstown, formerly of Girard, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Park Vista Nursing Care Center.  Edwin was born September 27, 1918 in Danville, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Edwin C. and Margaret A. Safford Morgan Sr.  He had worked for 19 years as a welder for Wean United in Warren.  Edwin served his country during WWII in the Army Airforce, 82 Airborne Division and received the Purple Heart during his service. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the 82 Airborne Chapter of Akron, the Girard V.F.W. and the former Girard Eagles Lodge.  He was an avid golfer. He leaves his wife, the former, Betty Green, whom he married Feb. 16, 1946, his daughter Donna L. Contreras and husband Abel of West Hills, Calf.,and  his son Ronald L. Morgan of Frazier Park, Calf.  He is preceded in death by his sister Esther Loftus.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10th, 11:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
