Eleanor E Boyd

Eleanor E. "Boo Boo" Boyd, 78, of Girard, peacefully went home to be with the Lord Tuesday March 24, 2015 at Liberty Health Care Center. She was born September 2, 1936 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Walfi and Elma Peltonen Johnson. Eleanor was a member of Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church in Liberty Twp. where she was involved in the Pleasant Timers and the Bereavement Ministry. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Sunrise Chapter #458. She always enjoyed video taping family events and left many tapes for her family to remember and cherish. She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Terry) Ours of Liberty Twp., and Suzanne (James) Longnecker of Mineral Ridge, brother, Donald Johnson of North Royalton, Ohio, five grandchildren: Kurtis, Kristen, Melisa, Mathew and Joshua and two great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Christian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. Boyd whom she married August 31, 1957 and passed away February 7, 2001 and son David Scott Boyd who passed away June 26, 1987. Funeral services will be held on Monday March 30th at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church. Family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 5-8 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home. Eleanor will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery. The family requests that any material contributions be made to the church memorial fund.
