Elijah M. Coley, 81, of Hubbard, passed away on Wednesday May 7, 2014 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Youngstown.  Elijah was born Sept. 21, 1932 in Pinsonfork, Kentucky, a son of the late Elijah L. and Suzie Runyan Coley.  Elijah retired in 1994 as a truck driver working for the Teamsters for 21 years and owning his own trucking company for 10 years.  He had previously worked for Republic Steel for 18 years.  Elijah was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Liberty Twp.  He was Army veteran serving his country during the Korean Conflict in Germany. Elijah was an outdoors man, enjoying fishing, camping and hunting and also enjoyed bowling.  He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Shirley Slone, whom he married January 12, 1953, his children Danny, wife Dianna, Coley of Girard, Steve Coley of Hubbard, Shelby, husband Randy, Trumphour of Hubbard and Bonnie, husband John, Franklin of Hubbard, sisters Peggy Chaney and Carol Smith and brother Jack Coley, grandchildren Danyal, Jennifer, DeAnna, John, Steve, Kandyce, Randy, Sarah, Katie and Jeana, and 10 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his sisters Fern Hickey and Violet Lowe, brothers Darrel, Murley and Harold Coley and great-granddaughter Lana Nicole.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10th, 11:00 am at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.  The family wishes to thank the staff at Heritage Manor and Crossroads Hospice for the kind and compassionate care that was given to Elijah, and any material contibutions can be made to Heritage Manor.
