Elizabeth Ruth Mapstone

Elizabeth Ruth Mapstone, 89, of Niles, passed away on November 17, 2016 at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home. Ruth was born October 28, 1927 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Albert and Agnes (Kennedy) Mapstone. Ruth had worked as a clerk for Arco Market in Liberty Twp., Buechner Hall at Youngstown State University for 12 years and Macalli's Giant Eagle in Niles. She was a member of Church Hill United Methodist Church and the Sunrise Chapter #458, Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed embroidering as a hobby. She is survived by her sister, Sally Jacobs of Seattle Washington, niece, Kathy Huber and nephews Russ Huber, Bob (Diane) Whetson and Gary (Nora) Whetson. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Laverne Whetson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 28th, 11:00 AM, at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. A Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at 10:45 AM before the funeral service. Ruth will be laid to rest at Churchill Cemetery.
