ELIZABETH (BETTY) DePERRO
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Blackstone’s Funeral Home, in Girard, for Elizabeth “Betty” DePerro, 96, of Girard, who peacefully entered eternal rest on July 16, 2015, at Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial commemorating Betty’s long and beautiful life will be held at St. Rose Church in Girard on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 11 a.m., preceded by a prayer service at Blackstone’s Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m.
The daughter of James and Madeline (Billet) Tedesco, Betty was born September 18, 1918. She was the sister of Josephine Kaniclides, Andrew Tedesco and Michael Tedesco, whom she is now reunited with in the Lord.
Betty is survived by her husband, Michael P. DePerro Sr., with whom she enjoyed 74 years of marriage. She was blessed with a son, Dr. Michael P. DePerro Jr. (Marie) and a daughter, Joanne (DePerro) Carmello (Felix). Her six grandchildren: Roklyn (Dan) Turner, Lysa (Jeff) Papa, Dayna (PJ) Milligan, Dr. Michael P. DePerro III, Anthony (Kimberly) Carmello, and Jason (Jennifer) Carmello together with her ten great-grandchildren: Rocco, Dante, and Myla Turner, Anthony, Mykel and Sophya Papa, Patrick and Daniel Milligan, Leona Carmello and Felix Carmello were her “baby dolls”.
Betty was employed at the General Electric Company in Niles, Ohio prior to retiring to raise her family. She exemplified an unwavering faith in God as a devoted member of the St. Rose Parish attending mass daily, praying her novena and graciously volunteering her services throughout the years. She enjoyed her many friends, but her passion and delight was sharing her life with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty will always be remembered as giving unselfishly and unconditionally of her time, support, guidance, love and endearing prayers.
Her family treasures the many blessings of Betty’s life and will always cherish her countless acts of kindness and love, holding tight to their many precious memories. Her life continues to be an inspiration for all who admired and loved her.
The family would like to thank the staffs of both Humility House and Hospice House for the kind and compassionate care they provided Betty. In lieu of flowers, material contributions can be made to St. Rose Church, Humility House or Hospice House.
