Elsie Francis Dobrovolec Racich, 88, formerly of Girard, passed away on Sunday April 27, 2014 at Liberty Health Care. She was born April 18, 1926 the daughter of the late Anthony and Francis Masel Dobrovolec. She was married to Henry James Racich for 64 years before his passing September 1, 2012. Elsie suffered a stroke 7 years ago and had never fully recovered before being struck with Alzheimers disease. She fought the good fight and is now in eternal rest. Elsie loved traveling with family and friends and was always up for an adventure. She often said that she had a bag packed and ready to go at a moment's notice. She followed wherever Hank and the band played and loved spending time with their friends and family. She had a strong will, a quick wit and a ready smile, even to the end. She leaves behind her daughters, Terry Racich of Vergennes Vermont, Janet Lynn Montoya of San Rafael, California and Kimberly (James) Toth of Liberty Twp., three grandsons, Tony (Holly) Nittoli, Joseph Nittoli and Joshua Hubbard Racich and one granddaughter, Rachel Toth. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Andrew and Alban Dobrovolec and sister Vida Dobrovolec who lovingly raised her after their mother passed away when Elsie was 12 years old. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday May 1, 2014 at 6:00 pm at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. Family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5:00 pm till time of service at the funeral home. Elsie will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
