Elva M. Franklin, 80, of Girard, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown. Elva was born May 1, 1935 in Youngstown, the daughter of Ralph and Rose Marie Clark Faber. Elva retired from Packard Electric after several years service, and was a professional photographer. When she was younger she excelled at sports, playing basketball, bowling, softball, golf and pool. She loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing, camping and street riding, trail riding and hill climbing with her Harley. She was very musically inclined having the ability to play several instruments and possessing a beautiful singing voice. Her favorite teams were the Cleveland Browns and Indians. She is survived by her son, Thomas Sr. and wife Evelyn, her grandchildren; Thomas (Julie) Franklin Jr. and Heather (Chris) Mulidore, great-grandchildren; Austan, Haylee, Macayla and Aidan, a step brother, George Faber, and a countless number of friends and relatives that will greatly miss her. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Faber and Alfred Faber and her step sister Rose. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd, 11:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
