Emil E. David, 88, of Girard, passed away on Sunday December 22, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Emil was born April 5, 1925 in Youngstown, the son of the late John and Katrina McGregor David. He worked as a machinist for Trumbull Manufacturing and retired from Brainard Rivet in Girard. He was a member of St. Rose Church, Knights of Columbus, SNPJ Lodge of Girard, Disabled American Veterans, VFW of Girard, Army-Navy Club and the Warren Amateur Radio Club. Emil was a surgical tech for the Army during WWII, was a Boy Scout Leader for many years and for the past 15 years was involved with the Girard High School Robotic's Team. He is survived by his wife, the former, Virginia F. Leskovec, whom he married June 7, 1947, children Madeline (Paul) Moon of Akron, Kenneth (Mary Ann) David of Niles, Karen (Keith) Williams of Girard and Michael (Tracy) David, of Conneaut, Ohio, sisters JoAnn Young and Minnie Wolf, both of Niles, fourteen grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother Richard David. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday December 28th, 9:30 AM at St. Rose Church, preceded by a prayer service at 9:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Girard City Cemetery with military honors.
