Emilia M (Zapka) Blazina

Emilia  "Millie" Blazina, 86, of Girard, passed away on Saturday October 18, 2014 at Northside Medical Center.  Millie was born November 1, 1927 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Steven and Susan Joseph Zapka.  At a young age, Millie had worked as a Candy Stripe for Northside Hospital.  Millie had also worked for Triangle Raincoat Co. and Aerorad, both formerly in Youngstown.  For most of her life, Millie was a devoted homemaker to her husband and and son. She was a former member of Girard Old Timers Club and enjoyed her sewing.  She is survived by her husband, Rudolph Blazina, whom she married August 20, 1950, her son Kenneth and daughter-in-law Marian of Brimfield, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her sister Ann Babinchac, brothers Steven Zapka and Milan Stanovich.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd, 11:00 AM at Girard City Cemetery Chapel where Millie will be laid to rest.
