Ezra Lee Barr, 97, of Niles, formerly of Girard, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Autumn Hills Nursing Care Center. Ezra was born January 7, 1919 in Leavittsburg, Ohio, the son of Alva G. and Rose E. Crow Barr. He retired from Erie Railroad, as a conductor, after working there for 45 years, and had also owned and operated Bar-O Construction Co. for 16 years. Ezra enjoyed golfing and bowling and had bowled well into his ninties. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters; Anna Lee (John) Heinl of Mantua, Ohio, Sandra (Dennis) Dills of Girard and Dorothy (Gregory) Palcich of Howland, a sister, Ruth Balge of Mantua, Ohio, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchilden and two great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, the former, Anne E. Treager, whom he married August 30, 1941 and died October 31, 1990, an infant son Timothy, four sisters and six brothers. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12th, 2:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
