Florence R. Pace, 94, of Youngstown, formerly of Liberty Twp., passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Meridian Arms. Florence was born January 11, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Rocco and Lucy (Caputo) Ripoli. Florence had worked at the former Livingston's, in the Liberty Plaza, for 6 years as a sales clerk, but for most of Florence's life she was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She was a member of Oblate Sisters of Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Cinquanta Club. Florence loved shopping and always loved going to McDonald's. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Sylvester (Joyce) Pace of Austintown and Robert (Diana) Pace of Liberty Twp., her grandchildren; Robert (Sarah) Pace, Dana (David) Smelko, Shawna Marsteller and Richard (Maria) Marsteller and great-grandchildren; Sophia, Gianna, Dante, Nikolette and Johnathan. Florence is preceded in death by her husband, Mario Salvatore Pace, whom she married September 25, 1948 and died December 25, 2007, her sisters, Rose Ripoli and Yolanda Ripoli Russ, and brothers; Louis Ripoli and Andrew Ripoli. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, 12:30 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Florence will be laid to rest at Belmont Park Cemetery next to her husband. The family wishes to thank the staff at Meridian Arms and also Hospice of the Valley for their kind and compassionate care that was given to their mother.
