Francesca Minniti

Francesca Minniti, 81, of Girard, passed away with nearly her entire family at her side on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at St. Elizabeth’s in Youngstown, Ohio. Francesca was born July 18, 1935, in Lazarro, Province of Reggio Calabria, Italy and was the daughter of Francesco Romeo and Felicia Minniti. Francesca was a devoted wife, mother, Nonna and homemaker. Francesca enjoyed, and was known to be profound in cooking and baking, and sharing her gift to anyone that entered into her home. She loved knitting and cross stitch, but her greatest joy was caring, and loving unconditionally, for her family.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil Minniti, whom she married July 24, 1960. They had six children, Demetrio (Georgia Smith), Girard; Virgil and his wife, Debbie, Liberty; Philip and his wife Annette, Girard; Giovanna and her husband, Ken Whitfield, Girard; Felicia Mesaros (Matt Mesaros), Canfield; Frank and his wife, Tamara, Niles; seventeen grandchildren, Virgil III, Nico, Ashley, Philip Jr., Gino, Deidre´, Dante, Gabriella, Malena, Jacob, Adam, Krista, Alan, Sabrina, Andrew, Santino, and Gianni. She is also survived by her sisters Maria and Rosa of Italy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters Teodora, Anna, and her brother Giovanni. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 20, at 12:00 PM at St. Rose Church in Girard, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 AM - 12 PM at the church.
