Francis A. Myer, 87, of Liberty Twp., passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday June 13, 2012 at his residence.  He was born March 26, 1925 in Port Jervis, New York, the son of the late Francis A. Sr. & Mary Wies Myer.  Francis served in the U.S. Army Air Corps South Pacific during WWII and belonged to the 19th Bombardment Association.  He worked as a Machinist for Erie-Conrail Railroad for 44 years retiring in 1990.  Francis was an active member of Church Hill United Methodist Church where he was a former trustee, a member of the TFG Sunday School Class, served on the grounds committee and was one of the organizers of the men's breakfasts. He also was a 60 gallon blood donor for the American Red Cross, twenty year volunteer for Trumbull County Mobile Meals, member of the Vienna Fish & Game Club and the Youngstown Men's Garden Club. Francis was an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing his harvest with family and friends. Francis was the beloved husband of the former June Lake whom he married September 6, 1952. He will be dearly missed by daughters, Jane (Robert) Page of Liberty Twp.: Jill Steffy of Girard and Jennifer (Edward) Peck of Medina: four grandchildren, Dr. R. Jarrett Steffy, Justin Steffy, Kalyn Peck and Eddie Myer Peck. His family was his pride and joy.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday June 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Church Hill United Methodist Church, where family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 AM till time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the church memorial fund. Arrangements were entrusted to Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
