Frank R. Hapcic, 78, of McDonald, peacefully entered into rest on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Trumbull Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Frank was born April 15, 1943 in Youngstown, OH, a son of the late Frank and Helen (Evich) Hapcic. He was a graduate of McDonald High School and studied at YSU. Frank proudly served his country in the U.S Navy during the Vietnam War as a medic. He had worked for TCTC in maintenance and after retiring worked as a part time associate at TJ Maxx.
Frank was a member of St. Rose Church and the Knights of Columbus in McDonald. He was an avid golfer and was in many golf leagues. Frank was a big fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Frank enjoyed dancing, music, traveling to the California vineyards and Italy, and spending time with his family especially his granddaughter Grace who he loved and adored.
Frank leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 53 years, Carol (Zajac) Hapcic, who he married August 10, 1968; his son, Brian Hapcic of Colorado; his sister, Shirley Moritz (Alan); and granddaughter, Grace Hapcic. Besides his parents Frank is preceded in death by his brother in law, John Moritz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 22nd, 11:00 AM at St. Rose Church in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Military honors will be held at the McDonald Veterans Memorial in Woodland Park.
