Frank Oliver Wilber, 70, passed away in Girard OH on March 26, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer. Frank was born on January 13th 1946,in La Porte IN to Albert G. and Dorothy (Cooper) Wilber. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Wilber, of Girard,whom he married Jan.7, 2000, his sons, David (Cammy) Wilber, Cory (Teonna) Wilber of La Porte IN, step- daughter Sarah (Jim) French, of Brookfield Ohio, his mother, Dorothy Wilber, of La Porte, IN, siblings; Mary (Virgil) Craft, Ruthy (Bill) Stayback, David (Nancy) Wilber, and Doreen Harmon, all of Indiana, a brother- in- law, Dale Boerema of Ohio, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his cat, Baby. He was preceded in death by his father Albert, sister Betty Boerema, and brother- in- law, Sherman Harmon. Frank served in the US Army from 1965-1971, and was a proud Vietnam veteran. He was awarded many medals and honors for his service. He further served in the Army National Guard, as a recruitment officer, until 1990. Frank was a commercial truck driver for over thirty years, hauling across the US, and a heavy equipment operator in his last years before retiring in 2001. Frank loved basketball, having coached in his early years, and was a big Cleveland Cavaliers fan. He enjoyed farming, classic cars, dining out, meeting new people and spending time with family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 9th, at 3:00 PM, at the Niles Kingdom Hall, 152 North Rd in Niles, OH, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 PM until the time of service.
