Fred H. Myers

Fred H. Myers, 89, of McDonald passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Woodlands at Austinwoods in Austintown with his family by his side. Fred was born October 21, 1930 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of the late Fred and Katherine (Hoffman) Myers. Fred proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had worked for US Steel and later retired from RMI after 12 years. Fred also volunteered his time at the McDonald Fire Department. He was a member of Woodland Park United Methodist Church in McDonald. Fred loved trains, crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy and being on the computer. Fred will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 66 years, Eileen (Killin) Myers, who he married March 6, 1954, his children; Debbie (Rick) Lewis of McDonald, Denise (Ken) Walls of McDonald, Kim (Mark) Witkoski of McDonald, and Tammy (Gary) Shells of mineral Ridge, sisters; Margaret (Peg) Altaffer and Kathy Myers both of McDonald, brother; Timothy (Pat) Myers of McDonald, grandchildren; Kristin (Matt) Jaggers, Brittany (Joe) Mayette, Amanda Lewis, Jason Witkoski, Lauren (Brett) Cubellis, Kate Shells and Kenzie Shells, and great grandchildren, Colton and Ellie. Fred is preceded in death by his sisters; June Stevens, Judith Ann Myers, Sandra Myers, and Ethel Coles, and his twin brother, Ted Myers. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 28th, 12:30 PM at Woodland Park United Methodist Church in McDonald, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 11:30 AM until the time of service. The family suggests in lieu of flowers any memorial contributions be made to Wounded Warrior Project: P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
