Fredric W. Forte, 80, of Girard, passed away on Wednesday October 8, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Fred was born August 4, 1934 in Girard, the son Joseph and Rose Sherock Forte.  He retired in 1991 from Packard Electric as a service person after working for 39 years.  Fred was a member of St. Rose Church and the I.F.H. Club in Girard. In his earlier years, Fred was an avid baseball player, playing for the Warren City Leagues. Fred loved sports of all kinds, especially the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians and playing cards. Fred loved just being with his family, and was also fond of all kinds of animals, especially his cat Babe. He is survived by his wife, the former, Ann Drolick, whom he married Sept. 28, 1978, his children; Tammy (Mark) Elston of Vienna, Tari (Larry) Foster of Cortland, Mark (Jackie) Forte of Warren, Jeff Forte of Niles, Melissa (Rich) Parker of Niles, Angie (Wayne) Murray of Austintown and Bill Hunter of Youngstown, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Besides his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his sisters; Mary J. Forte and Agnes Mills and brothers; Eugene, Joseph, James and Charles Forte.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 10:00 AM, at St. Rose Church preceded by a prayer service at 9:30 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.  Family and friends may call on Friday from 5-8PM at the funeral home.  Fred will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery.  The family requests any material contributions be made to the Animal Welfare League in Fred's memory.  Visit www.blackstonefuneralhome.com to view this obituary and to send any condolences to the Forte family.
