Garland Parker Dunkel Jr., 66, of Niles, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at his home. Garland was born, October 19, 1951 in Butler, PA., the son of Garland P. and Gloria (Marshall) Dunkel Sr. He had worked at Commercial Intertech as a maintenance Electrician for over thirty years. Garland was a member of the Saxon Club and enjoyed gambling, with trips to the casino, and gun raffles. He had served his country in the Marines and later the reserves. Garland is survived by his children; Sue Dunkel of Georgia, Jennifer Dunkel of Girard, Vern Isabella of Niles, Syreana (Alex) George, with whom he made his home, and Garland P. Dunkel III of Youngstown, a brother, David Dunkel, of Pennsylvania and five grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister, Edna Mae Jones. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28th, 11:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, followed by a military service.
