Gloria M. Garber, 86, of Warren, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017, at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren. Gloria was born January 12, 1931 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Makar) Hunkus. Gloria retired from Girard City School Systems, after 37 years, as a school secretary. She was a member of St. Rose Church and had been a member of SCOPE in Howland. She enjoyed playing bingo and time spent with her family. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Robert J. (Kathleen) Garber Jr., with whom she made her home, and Darlene (Ralph) Bell of Niles, her grandchildren; Robert J. Garber III, Felicia M. Cool, Kristina Rakijasic and Kennith Bell, eight great-grandchildren, and her brother, William Hunkus of Kinsman. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Garber Sr., whom she married April 7, 1951 and died May 13, 2009 and her brother Richard Hunkus. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 12th, 6:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home where the family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 PM until the time of service.
