Gloria Popp

Gloria Ruth Popp, age 96, passed away peacefully at the Inn at Christine Valley on Sunday, August 28, 2022. Gloria was born to parents Orilla Brown and Edmund Watkins on December 26, 1925. She resided at 1798 Salt Springs Rd, Mineral Ridge for 94 years of her long life. Gloria was a graduate of Mineral Ridge High School. After graduation, she worked for Jengen Hardware in Niles. She married Michael John Popp in April of 1949.
Gloria and Michael had three children: Leslie Michelle of Hilliard, Ohio, Michael Edward of Los Angeles, California,now deceased, and Jeffrey David of Austintown. Gloria attended Kent State University ,later in her life and graduated with a degree in education. She taught Third grade at Seaborn Elementary, Weathersfield Twp. Schools for 21 years. Gloria was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Niles. Gloria is preceded in death by her husband Michael J, her son Michael E., and her three siblings, Clarence (Bus) Watkins, Frances Stephen and Margaret Gillies.
