Gregory J Vince

Gregory James Vince, 59, of Girard passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from his courageous seven year battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. Greg was born December 14, 1958 in Youngstown, the son of George and Amelia (DeBonis) Vince, and was a life long resident of Girard. He retired as a supervisor from Easco Aluminum, where he had worked for 25 years, was the prevouis owner of the Alumni Inn.  and had previously worked for Vista Nursing Home, as a maintenance supervisor. Greg loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and enjoyed fishing. He was a gifted mechanic,and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix. If Greg couldn't fix it, it was truely considered trash. He leaves his devoted fiancee' of 23 years, the Miss Debra Wiscott, whom he loved and adored, his beloved mother, Amelia, of Girard, brothers; Ronald Vince of Girard, Richard Vince of Poland, Joseph (Tina) Vince of Niles, and Francis (Kay) Vince of Girard, sisters; Valerie (Dirk) Doverspike of Austintown and Mary Jo (Rick) Berry of North Lima, and a sister-in-law; Helen Vince of Rock Hill S.C. Greg is preceded in death by his father George, and brothers; George T. Vince and Jonathan M. Vince.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Rose Church, 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 28th. Greg will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.  The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses, especially Daisy, at St. Joseph Hospital, for the wonderful care that was given to Gregory for the past seven years.
