Guy S. Pagano, 85, of Girard, died peacefully on March 2, 2014 at Park Vista Nursing Facility. He was born May 19, 1928 in Girard, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph and Maria Trina Petrella Pagano. Guy was a graduate of Girard High School, and resided in Girard his entire life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Guy went on to own Pagano's Dry Cleaning and Tailoring in downtown Girard. He was co-owner of Hubbard Funland and Hold-n-View. He also owned an Industrial Steam Franchise. Guy retired from the City of Girard Waste Water Treatment Plant. In his younger days, Guy played the string bass in the polka band, The Airliners. He loved music and dancing. Guy was a avid golfer and loved the sport. He was a member of St. Rose Church, the Knights of Columbus and S.N.P.J. Guy is survived by his wife the former Irene Parisi of 61 years, four daughters, Marylu (James) Ralls, Angela (Glenn) Moore, Laurie (Dave) Raver and Janet (Richard) Russell, brothers, Sam (Dahlia) Pagano and Andrew (Millie) Petrella, step-brother, Jimmy Petrella, step-sister, Angela (Felix) Bevelaqua, grandchildren, Alex and Jana Creel. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews in the U.S. and in Roccalumera, Sicily. He was preceded in death by his step-sister-in-law Deloris Petrella. A Mass of Chrisitian Burial will be held on Wednesday March 5, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Rose Church with prayer service prior to service at 9:30 am at Blackstone Funeral Home. Family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Guy will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery with military honors. The family request material contributions be made to the American Diabities Association. The family would like to thank the staff of Park Vista for their kindness and support.
