Harry J. Fynes Sr.

Harry J. Fynes Sr., 90, of Girard, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at his residence. Harry was born October 22, 1933 in Girard, Ohio, the son of George and Jane (Johnson) Fynes. Harry had proudly served his country in the Marines during the Korean War. He worked for the city of Girard, in the street department, for 15 years and had also worked as a mill hand for U.S. Steel for 30 years. Harry is survived by his daughter, Kathryn (Frank) Migliozzi of Girard, and son, Daniel (Tracie) Fynes of Garrettsville, Ohio; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Harry is preceded in death by his wife, Janet E. (Bonam) Fynes, whom he married June 20, 1955 and died December 31, 2016; his sons, Harry J. "Skip" Fynes Jr. and Thomas Fynes; brothers, Tom Fynes, Jack Fynes and Jim Fynes; sisters, Mary Cobb, Faye Walters, Doris Wagner, June Miles and Ruth Rush; and his granddaughter, Cortney. As per Harry's wishes, there will be no services. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at the VA and Patriot Hospice for their care and support.
